Fi Brown grew up in Holmfirth, West Yorkshire, and now lives in Hastings, East Sussex. She has a BA in Fine Art painting from Liverpool John Moore's University, an MA in Public Art and Design from Chelsea College of Art and a variety of teaching qualifications.

She taught Art and Design in schools and colleges for many years and has worked in a variety of public art contexts including work with The Chisenhale Gallery in East London, Firstsite in Colchester and various local authorities. During the summer of 2024 she travelled to Japan for a Mokuhanga (Japanese Woodblock printing) residency.

Her work has been exhibited locally and nationally including Woolwich International Print Fair, Wells Cathedral and TyPawb Arts Centre, Hastings Museum and Art Gallery and Rye Art Gallery.
